Pick up/Drop off

  • All payments are required in full at time of registration
  • If registration is full, please put your name on a waiting list as we always try to add additional tickets or transportation.
  • Please arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled leave time.
  • Departure times are set and abided by.
  • If changes occur, participants will be notified by phone.
  • Return times may vary depending on traffic or weather conditions.  However, all is done to return on time.  Pickup/Drop-off location for all trips is the parking lot by the softball field at the Community Center.  Please park in the first spots facing the soccer field.


Refund Policy – Refunds are given only under the following circumstances.

  • The trip is cancelled by the Wauconda Park District
  • Person asking for refund finds a replacement for the trip.
  • Park District is able to re-sell your ticket to a waiting list participant

Cancelled – Dinner & Luau at Tiki Terrace (Active Adult 50+ yrs)

Join us as we escape to the Polynesian Islands for dinner and a luau, this Hang Loose Wednesday at The Tiki Terrace in Des Plaines is quite a change of pace from the usual dinner and a show. The evening will feature an “Ohana Family Style” of Kalua Pork, Coconut Chicken, Grilled Mahi Mahi and dessert while we enjoy a Hawaiian style luau performance. Trip includes transportation by Park District bus, dinner and performance.

A hidden jewel in Lake Forest. Ragdale, the nationally acclaimed artists’ retreat offers docent-led tours. Located on the former country estate of Arts and Crafts architect Howard Van Doren Shaw, a Ragdale tour includes: the historic Ragdale House, visual artist studios, exquisite gardens, an introduction to the Shaw family history and the artists’ residency program that serves nearly 200 artists
and authors each year. Before the tour we will have lunch at Market House on the Square in Lake Forest. Their menu offers crafted food featuring the rich tradition of American cooking we all grew up loving. The lunch and dinner items are made better than we remember through their commitment to the most current techniques and the best possible products sourced. Trip includes transportation by Park District bus, tour, and lunch.

Chicago Cubs vs. Milwaukee Brewers with Tailgating – Milwaukee, WI (10 yrs and older)

Let’s head up to Miller Park and watch the great game of baseball. There is nothing like a night game in early fall to watch the 2016 World Series champions Chicago Cubs take on the Milwaukee Brewers! Enjoy a summer evening at the ballpark cheering on your favorite team. Seats are to be determined and regardless of the weather the game will go on. We plan to arrive early so we can tailgate with the rest of the fans. We will provide the hotdogs, brats, chips, salad and cookies to eat. Participants must bring this own beverages and chairs. We will leave immediately following the game; let us do the driving so that you enjoy your time at the ballpark. The fees include your entrance ticket, transportation by Park District bus and food for tailgating. Please note: an adult must accompany anyone under the age of 18.

Spend your day enjoying the beautiful 1,700 acre living museum of the Morton Arboretum. Joy Morton began his journey in 1922 to create a “great outdoor museum” of trees. The Arboretum champions the world’s tress through plant collection, science and conservation, education and outreach. We will have a guided 1 hour garden walking tour when we arrive but once that is completed the day is yours to wander. Lunch is on your own at the Ginkgo Café. Trip includes transportation by Park District bus, entrance fee and tour.

CANCELLED – Graceland Cemetery and Arboretum (Active Adult 50+ yrs)

An oasis of art, architecture, and landscape design since 1860, Graceland Cemetery is one of Chicago’s finest hidden treasures. On the North Side, amongst the everyday hustle and bustle, lies a serene yet vibrant park-like cemetery. Located between two major Chicago cross streets, Clark & Irving Park, Graceland Cemetery is the final resting place to many prominent Chicago figures, including athletes, politicians, industrialists and many of the finest architects of the last century. Designed by visionary landscape architects, including O.C. Simonds, Graceland both serves as a glimpse into the past and a beautiful place for the future. Even with all of its 150 years of history, Graceland Cemetery is still an active cemetery and arboretum. Our approximately two hour, two mile walking tour will be led by professional guide, Albert Walavich. After the tour, we’ll travel to Max and Benny’s to enjoy a lunch of cole slaw, pickle, french fries, fountain drink, carrot cake, and your choice of turkey sandwich or corned beef sandwich. Please indicate your lunch choice at time of registration. Trip includes transportation by Park District bus, walking tour, and lunch.

Experience both the historic and modern-day journey of Lambeau Field. Join us as we venture to Green Bay, Wisconsin for a behind the scenes 2-hour guided tour. Visit the Bob Harlan Plaza, walk through a Gameday Suite, experience the Players’ Tunnel, and view the Lee Remmel Press Box, and Visitors’ Locker Room. While still at the stadium we will enjoy a buffet lunch of broasted chicken, garlic mashed potatoes, sauted green beans, fresh rolls, fresh baked cookies, coffee, iced tea and lemonade, before exploring the new 15,000 square foot, two-level Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame, conveniently located on the main floor of the Lambeau Field Atrium. A tribute to the greatest story in sports, the new facility uses the latest technology, enhanced interactive displays and a treasure trove of artifacts to educate and inspire visitors about the rich history of the Packers, as well as the teams of today. To cap off our day in Green Bay, we will travel to Titletown Brewing Co. for a state-of-the-art brewery tour that will provide you with valuable history and education, unforgettable memories, and a belly full of award-winning beer (root beer available.) Tour includes four 6 oz. pours and a souvenir glass. Trip includes: transportation by motor coach bus, small snack bag & water, guided stadium tour, lunch, museum tour, brewery tour, samples, and souvenir glass.
