Pick up/Drop off

  • All payments are required in full at time of registration
  • If registration is full, please put your name on a waiting list as we always try to add additional tickets or transportation.
  • Please arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled leave time.
  • Departure times are set and abided by.
  • If changes occur, participants will be notified by phone.
  • Return times may vary depending on traffic or weather conditions.  However, all is done to return on time.  Pickup/Drop-off location for all trips is the parking lot by the softball field at the Community Center.  Please park in the first spots facing the soccer field.


Refund Policy – Refunds are given only under the following circumstances.

  • The trip is cancelled by the Wauconda Park District
  • Person asking for refund finds a replacement for the trip.
  • Park District is able to re-sell your ticket to a waiting list participant

Four Winds Casino, New Buffalo, Michigan

Do you feel lucky? Join the Wauconda Park District as we head out to Four Winds Casino in New Buffalo, Michigan. So grab a friend and your players card and let’s try our luck at the penny or nickel slots. When registering please make sure to register with your legal name, address, and email. In order to secure the perk package casino requests specific info from us and by registering, you are consenting to share this information with the casino. Day of trip casino packages will only be given when you show a valid picture I.D. transportation is provided by motor coach. Casino package is subject to change. Includes $15 gaming and $10 towards buffet. Please register by December 1.

Galos Cave & Jolly Inn, Chicago IL (Active Adult)

The magic world of salt, miraculous rest, health, and relaxation invites you to take advantage of a session in the salt-iodine cave Galos.  In the cave, air intensely saturated with particles of Iodine and salt, has an anti-inflammatory action and stimulates the immunological system, ameliorates health condition and helps treatment of many different conditions.  Enjoy relaxing in a 45-minute session, suggested to bring loose-fitting clothing.  Galo’s suggested you consult with your physician if you have:  hyperthyroidism, cancer, low blood pressure, allergy to Iodine or claustrophobia.  Once you have enjoyed your session, we will have a lunch at Jolly Inn which serves a traditional buffet of Polish entrees.  This trip includes Galos Cave, lunch and transportation by Park District Bus.  Minimal walking.

Bocce & Italian Luncheon, Northbrook, IL (Active Adult)

Pinstripes was built from a passion to gather, to celebrate, and to experience sophisticated fun.  Bocce, also known as Italian lawn bowling, is one of the most widely played games in the world.  It is simple and can be played by people of all ages and skill levels.  Enjoy a delicious, family-style Italian lunch of chop salad, Caesar salad, meat lasagna, and penne pomodoro with coffee, tea, and soda in preparation of our two hours of bocce fun.  Take a break from the action to nibble on a dessert of house made cookies, Ghiradelli triple chocolate brownies, and Anna’s carrot cake.  Whether you’re competitive, or just looking for a relaxing day out with friends, Pinstripes is the place to be.  Trip includes transportation by Park District bus, bocce, and lunch.  Minimum walking.  Registration deadline is Friday, January 17 or until the program is full.

Illinois Holocaust Museum, Skokie, IL (Active Adult)

The third-largest Holocaust museum in the world, Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center provides a world-class museum and education experience dedicated to preserving the memories of those lost in the Holocaust as well as teaching current generations about the need to fight hatred, indifference and genocide in today’s world.  The visit begins with a catered boxed deli lunch of three mini sandwiches – turkey breast, corned beef, and egg salad, fresh fruit cup, pickle, jumbo chocolate chip cookie, and bottled water.  Option of vegetarian mini sandwiches – egg salad, cheese, and veggie cream cheese available.  Please indicate at time of registration.

After lunch, explore the museum on a private docent-guided tour, providing context, understanding and clarity throughout the exhibition.  Next, gather in the Hall of Reflection for a powerful and personal session with a survivor speaker.  Trip includes transportation by Park District bus, lunch, and tour.  Moderate to extensive walking.  Registration deadline is Tuesday, January 28 or until the program is full.

More than a Mission, Libertyville, IL (Active Adult)

Experience “Volun-tourism” – a truly inspirational way to have fun and give back at the same time!  Be a part of Feed My Starving Children’s mission of eliminating starvation in children throughout the world by hand packing meals specially formulated for malnourished children.  Please note:  Participants should wear no jewelry and be able to stand for 1.5 hours – although there are some sitting jobs, and breaks are encouraged if needed.  At the end, learn how many meals were packed, and when and where they are are headed.  After, enjoy lunch on your own at Baker’s Square.

Trip includes transportation by Park District bus from Park District.  Lunch is on your own.  This trip is being offered in collaboration with SRSNLC.  Minimal walking but extensive standing.  Registration deadline is Tuesday, February 18 or until the program is full.

Are traffic and high gas prices keeping you away from the casinos?  Looking for an afternoon of fun and trying to see if lady luck is on your side?  Let the park district make it easy on you as we provide transportation to your favorite Illinois casino hot spot.  Go to the casino try your hand at the latest games in all your favorite denominations.  So, grab a friend, your players card, and let’s try our luck at the slots or table games.  Transportation by Park District bus and lunch is on your own.  There will be moderate to extensive walking.  Registration deadline is Wednesday, March 11.

Inspirational Places in Lake County (Active Adult)

Our first tour will be of Marytown in Libertyville to learn more about the National Shrine of St. Maximillian Kolbe, built to honor a Polish Conventual Franciscan priest who traded his life for another in the Auschwitz death camp.  Our next stop will be to tour University of St. Mary of the Lake/Mundelein Seminary.  It is the largest Catholic seminary in the U.S. also celebrating their 100th Anniversary and is famous for its architecture, impressive library and pastoral grounds.  Once our tour has concluded we will have lunch there in the dining hall.  The final stop of the day will be New Monastery Gracanica in Third Lake; this building is a replica of the original Gracanica of Kosovo.  Learn about the desire of the Orthodox Church to touch senses, thereby touching the soul and see ho every detailed element in the church has spiritual significance.  Churches in our anticipated itinerary are active sacred places and the itinerary is subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances.  This trip includes all tours, lunch and transportation is by Park District bus.  Extensive to moderate walking and stairs.  Registration deadline is Tuesday, March 31.

Fermilab Tour and Shopping, Geneva, IL (Active Adults 50+)

Have you ever wondered what happens at Fermilab in Batavia, IL?  We will have a guided tour of Fermilab the nation’s premier high-energy physics laboratory and learn about its rich history, present day experimentation and cutting-edge future.  You will see the lab from the birds-eye view of the 15th floor of Wilson Hall as the pre-accelerator, Linear Accelerator and main Control Room areas.  View the technology that powers Fermilab’s research and discovery.  Following this fascinating tour, the group will travel to downtown Geneva to enjoy 2 hours of free time to shop and have lunch on our own.  This trip includes tour and transportation by Park District bus.  Extensive walking and standing.  Registration deadline is Tuesday, April 7.

A Mighty Fortress is Our Basement, Fort Atkinson, IL (Active Adult)

In this installation of the church basement Ladies series, the year is 1960 and our formation is underway.  Beverly gets her first pair of high heels for confirmation.  Mrs. Snustad wins top honors at the county fair for her Grand Champion pickles.  Mavis must find a way to deal with the new superhighway that cuts through her farm.  Karen finds freedom behind the wheel of her husband’s pickup truck.  And pastor has found new Love and announces his impending  nuptials.  Against the changing times, these “bulwarks never falling” stand strong in their faith and in their friendship for more crazy antics, more great songs, and more lessons reluctantly learned.  Upon registration for this trip, you will choose from the following menu options:  Chopped Salad-Finely diced Harvest Blend, Romaine, and Iceberg Lettuce, Hard-boiled Egg, Red Onion, Grape Tomato, Avocado, Cucumber, Jones Cherrywood Smoked Bacon Chips, and Wisconsin Cheddar Cheese.  Topped with the Fireside’s Pepper Cream Dressing and Crisp Tortilla Ribbons.  Roast boneless pork chop with herbed crouton dressing with Sauerkraut and Jones original Recipe Sausage.  Served with Whipped Yukon Gold Potatoes glazed with rich homemade Pork Stock Gravy, Creamed Corn, and our specially crafted Cinnamon Apple Sauce.  Dessert is homemade Apple Pie with Streusel Topping, served and our Homemade Vanilla Bean Frozen Custard.  Registration deadline is Wednesday, April 1.
